Cojonudos are a perfect appetizer that combines the creaminess of quail eggs, the intense flavor of sobrasada, and the sweetness of caramelized onion. It's a juicy bite, served on a base of toasted and crispy bread, allowing you to savor the combination of Made in Spain flavors with every bite.

Ingredients

  • 3 large slices of bread
  • 6 quail eggs
  • 1 spreadable sobrasada
  • 1/2 onion
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil,
  • a pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Cut the onion thinly and place it in a pan with a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Let it caramelize on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
  • Toast the bread in a toaster or in a pan to give it some texture, then spread the sobrasada on it.
  • In a pan, add oil and fry the quail eggs.
  • Assemble the appetizer with the toasted bread as the base, spread the sobrasada, add the caramelized onion on top, and crown with the quail eggs.
  • Notes

  • We use quail eggs so we can eat them in a single bite.
  • If we don't have sobrassada, we can replace it with pâté or slices of chorizo.
