My Greek Salad Recipe
About Feta Cheese
Feta is the ingredient that gives this Greek salad its unmistakable character. Its salty, tangy flavor and crumbly texture create the perfect contrast with the juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumber, sweet pepper, olives, and extra virgin olive oil.
I like to add the feta at the end, rather than mixing it too much into the vegetables. This keeps the pieces intact and means you get a little bit of that creamy, salty cheese in every bite. Together with the oregano and olive oil, it brings all the ingredients together.
Feta has been part of Greek cuisine for centuries, and it is easy to understand why it has become so popular around the world. It is simple, intensely flavorful, and incredibly versatile—but in a classic Greek salad, I think it is at its best.

| 1 unit | 1 unit | Tomato | Large, washed and wedged |
| 1 unit | 1 unit | Red onion | Peeled and julienned |
| 1 unit | 1 unit | Green pepper | Washed, deseeded and diced |

| 200 g | 7 oz | Feta cheese | Cubed or slab |

Instructions
1. Prepare the Vegetables
Wash the tomato, bell pepper, and cucumber thoroughly, especially if you plan to leave the skins on. Cut the tomato in half, then slice it into small wedges. Remove the seeds from the bell pepper and dice it into small pieces, reserving a few wider strips for decoration if desired.
Peel the cucumber if you prefer, then slice one half into thin rounds and cut the other half into thicker chunks. Peel the onion and slice it into thin julienne strips.
2. Assemble the Salad
Add all the prepared vegetables to a bowl, then add the olives and gently toss everything together. Finally, add the feta cheese—the star ingredient of the salad—and sprinkle with dried oregano.
3. Finish with Olive Oil
Drizzle the salad with extra virgin olive oil just before serving and gently mix once more to combine the flavors.
